I just bought a new deck, but I need help removing the old one. It is the stock AM/FM/Cassette from a 1990 GT, and I dont know how to remove it. I worked at it for a little while and removed the screws in the sides but still wont come out. any help would be appreciated!

You need a special tool that you can get from Radio Shack or Circuit City I believe.
They fit in the small hole on the left and right side / upper and lower corners of the deck. There made in a U-Shape and you push them into the small hole and they release the catch on the other side that holds the deck in.
If that make any since to you?

yeah actually. I did notice the 2 holes on either side and figgured there would be some kind of tool for them. I was trying to use allan keys to get it off but it didnt work. Maybe I'll get Future Shop to install it. lol

The tool is less than 5 bux most places and should be in every Ford owners tool box. It takes literally 2 seconds to remove a stock radio with it.

The bent coat hangers will work but you have to have an easy touch to feel the catches release. I tried for a while and gave up. A trip to Pep Boys and $3.95 later and the thing came out in two seconds with the tool.
