Deep aluminum trans. pans for C4's

How many of you guys are running these style pans on your cars? I know TCI and B&M make them. (TCI holds 1 quart more than stock, B&M holds 2 quarts more than stock but costs $50 more)

What are your thoughts?

I'm asking because over the winter my transmission pan leaked out a bunch of fluid (it never had during other winters) so I did the filter/gasket replacement job a few weeks ago (in prep for putting the car on the road) and it's already leaking a bit again. Maybe my pan is warped, I don't know.

I will buy the TCI pan when I get around to it. I saw this pece in person at a car show and it looked very well made. There is no danger of warping the rails on that pan.

i made one myself. I took a stock c4 pan and cut the "lip" off the top of it. Then, I got some 14 guage (thick) steel (heavy). I cut it out and then bent it in a sheetmetal brake and welded it to the lip (was careful the lip did not warp). Then welded heat sinks on the bottom of the pan. The pan holds almost 2 quarts more tranny fluid. After it was all said and done, I powdercoated it. It looks great. I had about $15 in the whole thing...including the scrap metal, electricity, powder, and welding gas/wire.

If you know someone that can weld for you, you can save some money.

I've decided to go with the B&M.

I found out it's only $139 (canadian) at the local performance parts place. For some reason it's cheaper than the TCI version, which is weird because on all the online parts places (Jegs and summit) they want more money for the B&M (Around $150 U.S.) and less for the TCI ($100 U.S.)

I replaced my stock pan with an aftermarket one with a drain plug. It also leaked-just a little. Come to find out that the shiney new 3/4" stainless steel bolts I bought for it were 1/16" too long for some holes. You can't tell, because they pull the pan up and torque nicely.

This is the one I got. It was $112. I also got one for my E4OD which was a little more expensive. No problems yet.
