OK i am goin to have a compression test done on my cylinders just because im curious on how well everything is holding up. So can i draw any type of conclusion from a compression test? In your individual opinion, what exactly would be the most valuable piece of information that can be obtained from a compression test? I think it is measured in PSI isnt it? With that said, what is the ideal "PSI" that i would like to see on a test like this before i start making moderate modification's to the engine?

Thanks for your input

a dry and then wet test can tell you about the ring seal a little. the numbers themselves dont mean much due to variances in methods, but the relative numbers (range in values from cylinder to cylinder) do.

if wanting to go forced induction or know more, a leakdown test is more insightful.

good luck.
