Could still be the ball joints if they are the stock sealed type.
The grease inside may have dried up.
Turn the steering wheel back and forth with the front wheels on the ground and if you hear a squeaking/creaking sound it`s likely the ball joints.
Is it a viscous fluid that's leaking off the tie rod? Is the bellow at the end of the rack also wet? That'd suggest an end seal in the rack (the bellows should be dry - they're dust boots).Jaswir said:also i do have fluid leaking down my the outer tie rod? not alot just wet... to change a tie rod is it just simple unbolt from spindle and from rack?
