i thought my ball joints were shot, but turns out they are ok... would tie rods creek if they are shot? i know my front sway bar bushings on both sides are shot and i think the bar is moving metal to metal making that sound... so im going to change those first... then i guess that it would only be tie rods? i replaced my shocks already... any help thanks

Yeah, I'd second that, also check your sway bar, both the sway bar mounts and the end links.

I'd add that the top strut bushings can squeak too.

If you hear metal to metal, check the spring isolators too - you can get some NVH if they wear through.

Good luck.

Could still be the ball joints if they are the stock sealed type.
The grease inside may have dried up.

Turn the steering wheel back and forth with the front wheels on the ground and if you hear a squeaking/creaking sound it`s likely the ball joints.

i pumped them full of grease before i installed them and put some under the boot...

it seems to do it only when i turn when im goin 10mph or more and its more like a pop... and mostly on the passenger side... also i do have fluid leaking down my the outer tie rod? not alot just wet... to change a tie rod is it just simple unbolt from spindle and from rack?
i really havent had a change to play with it, so im gonna see if i get it to make a sound when i just move the steering wheel

Is it a viscous fluid that's leaking off the tie rod? Is the bellow at the end of the rack also wet? That'd suggest an end seal in the rack (the bellows should be dry - they're dust boots).

If it is an outer tie rod, it is a simple bolt and unbolt. An alignment is needed afterwards.

Good luck.
