Did Turbo Coupe rear-ends come with 4:10s?

I was at one of the local pick and pull junk yards yesterday. They had a 88 Turbo Coupe with an automatic. I thought these were supposed to be 3:73 gear ratio. For $100 I could pop the whole assembly in my 92 and get the 3:73s I wanted. I pulled the rear cover off to verify condition and to make sure it had the 3:73 ratio. It turned out it had 4:10s. More than I want, oh well. Did the Turbo Coupes ever come with 4:10s? Or did someone put them in? If anyone in the SLC area wants a diff with 4:10s let me know and I'll tell you where its at.

Nope,

3.55's for 5-spd
3.73's for AOD's

If you turned down an 8.8 rear with 4.10's fro $100, maybe hot rodding is not your gig.. I just paid $100 for a bare rear housing at Fun Ford Weekend last Sunday. For a mere $200 (at worst) you could've ordered a set of 3.73's. If you live somewhere where 8.8's just fall out of the sky, and you can overlook one with 4.10's vs. 3.73's, just call me next time you run across such a deal and turn it down over a mere $100. I don't mind paying shipping...

No kiddin. $100 for an 8.8 with 4.10's and rear disk 4-lug brakes?

I would have bought it and then turned around and sold it for $200-300 and made myself a nice profit.

Hell if you were near me i'd go get it just to do that!

$100 was only for the housing and diff, it did not include the brakes or axles. Still a good deal but I want 3:73. One rotor was worn 1/4 way through from bad pads. Not to mention I had to pry the calipers off because they were rusted to the rotors. Maybe I could have sold it for more but 2-3 hours on my back, in the dirt and rocks, at the junk yard to pull it off, is not worth a $100 profit.

I'm not sure how not spending $100 for something I don't want means 'hot rodding not my gig'. I guess I could have been like you and bought it, then bought some 3:73s and put them in the differential. Or I could save the $100 and buy some 3:73s for the 8.8 already in my car. Its still there, for a fee I'll pull it and send it to you. You can pay shipping.

I just got a Turbo Coupe rear end with 3.73's, complete disc to disc. I traded a guy straight up for a set of turbine wheels i had laying around. I want to go 5 lug though.....so i might just sell this off.

why? ditch the 4 lug turbocoupe antilock axles and it's the same length rear end as a fox, slip your 5 lug stuff into that and save big cash.

I guess i could, but what would be the advantage over my stock fox axles tubes with the 5 lug axles?

No, I got one from a AOD car so it has 3.73's, I already have 3.73's in my car now, the only thing i would gain from this axle is the disc brakes. But want to go 5 lug so why would i wan to use this axle over the one i have now?

Wrong page. I looked at the 4:10 diff, Flava got the diff with 3:73's and 4 lug axles.

Yeah, if it were $100 for all of it and it was all in good usable condition I would have got it. For the H3ll of it I called back, they want $40 per axle, $20 per caliper, $10-15 per rotor and around $10 for the brake lines. So the total would be around $250 for all. I may go back and get the axles and caliper brackets. Should still be able to get rotors, calipers and hoses, if I ever decide to go that route.
