i just got a set of BBK 1 3/4 long tubes headers used off the stangnet classifieds (thanks, Clay, they look great). anyway, on the inside of the ports where the headers bolt to the heads, there is this like ridge of metal. i was wondering if this was normal or not. i am going to take a dremel and get that restrictive garbage out of there, but i was just wondering if this was common or not.

yeah my mac headers were like that, so i did the same thing as you did, i took a dremel and flattened the ridges, made it really smooth, not sure if that really helps anything at all, might get a horse from all 8 tubes... if that... but if your bored like i was its a fun little project... got rid of those and got some bbk equal length chrome shorties, now these didnt have any ridges in them at all from the factory, very geniune part...

my bbk shorties came like that, and got my dremel out and grinded the excess out also. It takes awhile to do though, good luck.

Same as all above posters. An hour or so with a dremel or die grinder and it will be much better.
