I will look up the baffled mufflers mentioned before. They might be a consideration. I think, because of money, I will be using stock mufflers and the catted x.

After you get the catted xpipe on w/ the stock mufflers, if you want louder or a different sound, switch to a magnaflow catback.

Just curious Red03, do you remeber what model of Magnaflows you were using? Were they XL's? What length were they? I'm probably going with a set on my Cougar, but I want the quietest ones possible. I'm sick of the noise and to tell you the truth, would rather hear the whine of my blower over the drone of the exhaust.Red03Mustang said:All right.

With the stock H, Magnaflows are very quiet. The only time you will hear them at all is at the 2000rpm range. Slight drone - very slight. They are supposed to make really good power though!

How much of your trunk did you Dynomat? With my current setup, there are times when the change in my rubber cupholder starts rattling, which is the only gripe I have with drone. In the near future I am planning on an x-pipe, but at the same time I don't want the inside to get too loud (lookin' out for the dates in the car). I had thought of Dynomat in the past, but I didn't know how much of a difference it would make. Is it really that much better?menasci said:When I had my Dr. Gas it droned like crazy!

I dynamated my trunk and it made a big difference!

Also, I've noticed the drone being worse with the windows all the way up. Try cracking the driver's window an inch or so, and see if that helps. Accoustically it makes sense (interior exhaust has no where to go with the windows up. It's like porting a speaker box).
