Sry for the noob question but i was just curious what is the difference between a regular 5.0 and a 5.0 HO engine?

S.O. FIRING ORDER 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8
'86 and up S.O. are roller engines (at least according to Autozone)
The '82GT (flat tappet cam turd) had a HO 5.0 that was non roller. When Ford gave the HO label, was when they swapped to the 351w firing order for 302s. It might have been coincidence that Ford gave the 302 a HO label, at the same time they swapped the firing order, but no 5.0 HO has the old 302 firing order and no non-HO 302 has the HO firing order.Roland69 said:Roller block
There have been what... 3 different heads used in 5.0 HO engines since '82 and at least as many cam changesFoxfan88 said:ya the heads and roller cam are the biggest difference. the HOs are like 40-50 horse over non HO
