I want to start building an engine for my 88 gt and i have a donor motor out of an 86 or 87 cougar. Is this engine a roller motor or not. I was told that the only differences between the HO and regular 5.0 was the camshaft profile and intake manifold. Is that true?

Cam profile, firing order, cast vs. forged pistons, heads, and I could be lying...but I don't think vanilla 5.0's are roller motors either.

Basically just firing order. Not all H.O. 302's had forged pistons, or roller camshafts either.

For a good while they had forged pistons and they were rollers from 86' until I believe 00' when it was no longer in service.
