different dipstick?

The stock oil dipstick is not doin it for me anymore.. the twisted flat rod.. it doesnt go back in easily at all.. its a PITA. is there any options for a different style of dipstick??

My stang has the one you are talking about, the twisted metal, but my Grand Prix or my GMC one has the metal cord one that the others are talking about. The ones out of the 95-98 I think would work. Don't know for sure though.

Also have the cord and it's not bad at all It'll get a little tension when nearly all the way in, though give it a slight twist and it's good to go.

i have the cord too but i was looking i the owners manual and it shows the cord being for v6s and a flat one for v8s but i think its a mess up because when i change my oil and fill it up it it right on the full mark

Well mine has never been changed and it's the rod type design

Yeah, i noticed the exact same thing reading my manual. I thought maybe the owner before me swapped the dipstick but then after seeing that most people have the Cord style then i am guessing Ford had a Type in the Manual.

Ya so it seems.. So I guess I will check local auto stores and see what they have.. gracias
