Well....I got stuck in the common debate over 3.73s or 4.10s, at least until yesterday. I got a great deal on a fully built rearend that already had gears in it......4.56s

They're great on the street, dont hurt gas mileage at all....and very fun

Hopefully within the next week or so I'll have some track times with them in.

Me and the guy who installed the rear end were both thinking that it was going to be way too much for a GT, but its really not. As far as gas goes.....took me a 1/4 tank to get there with 3.27s and just barely over 1/4 tank to get back.

Did you find yourself running out of steam fairly quick up top with those gears and no breathing mods with your engine not making any additional power? Gears are great, but if you over gear it, it can be just as bad as under gearing it. You ideally want the perfect combination that gets you into your power band as quickly as possible, yet allows you to stay within it as long as possible as well.

I got the gears with a 31 spline rear end, so I can pretty much launch where I want (as long as I get traction). With a 2.5k launch its great stays in the powerband pretty good, but Ive been shifting it around 5.5k. Not sure its gonna work to good in the 1/4 though.....
