Why don't more people use the 93 cobra intake more on our year model of cars. I have seen the flow charts where they flow a little better than the 95 Cobra intake, and almost identical to the edelbrock performer. Are there any kind of problems that keep us from running these with our kind of throttle body setup.

If i were gonna do this (which i may), i assume i will need the following.

Intake upper&lower
gasket set
Elbow adapter

Is there anything else i will have to have, if so let me know. pics of these intakes in our cars would also be helpful. This means you Andy :nice: lol

Thanks for looking,

Jason

Most people probably use the 94/95 cobra intakes just for the fact that they dont have to go out and buy an elbow adapter for it. I dont see why it wouldnt work on our cars... Most aftermarket intakes are made for the fox 5.0 and have the elbow to make them work with our cars.

well i haven't even seen a used edelbrock performer in the classifieds, and this intake is local. No shipping waiting etc. I would like to have an edelbrock performer, so i can upgrade to the RPM if i even need to. Plus i think that they look better than the trick flows

Im in the process of fabbing up the CAI at the moment...this is a mock set-up..the new one will all be in polished Alum...had to custom make it for what I wanted, the meter in the fenderwell...It will clear my tall VCs with no spacer and the hood closes and clears just fine....although I have a HO Fibertrends 1 1/2" cowl, a Cobra front bumper and FMS chrome Cobra's on the road... :D
Screw the elbow...thats why i switched to the Fox set-up...that elbow just looks like ass to me...i just looks outta place...
I bought a new FRPP Cobra STB...and it WONT work, not with the Fox TB set-up I have...it wont go over the CAI... will require some fab work if I wanna run it...

I had the GT40 lower ang got the upper for 165.00...don't care about the price as its what i wanted...Its being painted Silver this time, no more Black.. :D All's that left is to fab the CAI, so I can send my MAF back for re-cal for 24s...It ran fine with the Explorer, so i think this one will do just fine...I just wanted something different, and I like the looks of the 93....

hey andy,
who is gonna do the sluminum pipe for you. Do you know someone with a manual bender? Also is there a tech article on that Tb swap anywhere. If you went with the TB setup you went with, why couldn't you use a cold air intake for the fox cars isn't everything else the same.

I also contacted t-moss about sending the intake back to him and taking more out of it to get it to flow around 210 on the lower and am considering cutting the upper and trying to port it out myself. what do you think?? My bud works at a fab shop, and they have a bandsaw that will cut it and he can weld ver very well, so he could put it back together for me.

Welp. I bought these on Ebay...This one is a 95 set-up...I wnated to hook back up the oil breather, as I get oil in the lower syndrome..thought maybe this would help...i had the oil with the Tmoss and the Explorer, both with out the oil fill, thank the taller VCs for that one...
hence you see that pc is the demo.....it wont really work...

I then bought this one, couple nites ago...I can cut what i need for the fit, then I'll Tig it up and re-polish, maybe anodize it???. This one will be able to be cut to fit...its got plenty of lenght...i'll form it for the smoothest bends i can...I think it'll look good for sure....

Toms the one to talk to on that intake stuff for sure...For the money spent, read cheap, It might be worth it..??

I know i e-mailed him and asked him where the best place to cut it would be. Since i have my original and the one on the car, i think i am gonna try it. I took a guy for a ride in my car the other day, he has an all forged trick flow 306 now. he said mine moved as well as his old fact. shortblock with the gt-40 irons, and the trick flow intake did with the same cam mine has.

This making up my mind on what i want to do is killer. I kinda want to break out the credit card and get a set of afr's and another intake. But i would be paying on that for a while so i kinda don't.
