1st off, I am completely new to tuning. I have a 94 Cobra computer in my car ( the car in my sig). I have no egr & no smog so my check engine light is on. this might sound weird but I want to try just turning off the EGR & Smog in the computer via the tweecer so the engine light will go off. I have a 'mass air adjuster' which works great for adjusting the a/f ratios at idle. I want to try loading the 94 cobra specs into the tweecer & starting from there because it runs really good on just the cobra computer & the 'air adjuster'.I am in the middle of installing a wideband to help dial in the a/f's.
anyone know where I can find a load a tune that would match the stock cobra tune? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, joe

If you have a cobra EEC in the car now all you have to do is "read eec" it will allow you to pull the stoc EEC and save as say stock base tune

We all start somewere. The software used to be at tweecer.com free download. It used to be on clint's website and the tuning forums as well but it's been a while as I did not move to BE or QH. I found our tuning forum here to be a great 94-95 specific area. No sorting out the A9 stuff just search and you will find a ton of info

ok, Thanks. I did some searching but most of the stuff I read was way over my head..... kinda like a 4yr old trying to learn how to ride a bike WITHOUT training wheels......he will learn eventually but not without falling down & getting embaressed quite a few times. I am very new to the tuning but definently wanting to learn.

Take your time and you will be fine. Start with the simple stuff and build an understanding and you will see it's changing things in small amounts not extreme amounts until your happy . One thing, you will find yourself getting very picky/anal about how the car runs

First determine why the check engine light is on and which error code is running. If you don't do that first you might as well remove the check engine bulb to stop it from flashing on

Seriously though..take care of the mechanicals first. Then start the tuning modifications

I'm pretty sure the CEL is from the egr being gone but I will check it anyway. the car was tuned & chipped by the previous owner & he told me that the egr had been turned off with the chip. when I swapped out the C&L meter for a Pro-m, it didn't idle right.I called Pro-m & the rep told me that C&L meters run the car on the lean side so the fuel tables that were burned to the chip would probably have been set on the rich side to compensate for the C&L. he told me to try running it on the stock computer so I did. the next time I ran it after removing the chip the CEL came on & has been on ever since so as of now I am assuming it is from the egr. I will try to pull some codes today & see what I come up with.

The OP removed the EGR. That will cause the CEL to turn on. It's a very good tip to make sure the mechanical side is all in chech but in this case it's either he rigs the EGR to fool it by messing with the sensor or he turns it off in the tune.

I am going to put the chip back in today & try it again. it will turn the light off for sure. I just changed my whole exhaust setup from shorties, o/r x-pipe, & flow's to LT's, hi-flow cats, & custom side exhaust.
I remember reading somewhere that without making any adjustments to the fuel... the LT's will cause the motor to run a little leaner over the shorties. anyone know if this is true?
I picked up a [Air Adjuster] a while back to allow me to smooth out the idle & it works really good. it allows easy adjustments to the idle a/f's.it plugs in between the mass air meter & the computer. poor idle was the reason I removed the old chip in the first place so I at least want to try it with the chip again to see what happens. I installed a Wideband yesterday so now I can actually see where my A/F's are.
