There are two TPS listed for the 1992 GT Mustang. Does anyone know the the difference in the TPS? What is different about the car(s) that would call for a different TPS?
The Ford part numbers are E8ZF-9B989-AA and E6AF-9B989-DA.

Those Ford part numbers are equivalent (to the latest Ford version/spec for that part).

Go with the E8ZF-9B989-AA part. It's a newer version.
Designing a reliable and long-lasting TPS is not something that trivial or simple. Hence, Ford had many re-designs of that part over the years. It's like the ever moving strut tower and FCA locations in the 85-93 Stangs. For the most part, it doesn't matter. But, clearly, the slight changes of the strut tower location and FCA mounting points in the 93 have their advantages verses the '87.
With respect to the TPS, Ford had a number of issues in trying to keep out dead spots, moisture, poor contact areas, expected use life, and so on. I know that my '86 went through two dealer installed TPS sensors in the first 5 years. Until I bought my Stang from my best friend in the mid 90's, the Stang was serviced only by the dealer and was 100% stock.
By the mid 90's, the cost for dealer only repairs (or anything, even an alternator, exhaust, etc) convinced my friend that it was time for another car. As I remember, I paid my friend a little over Blue Book value (which was way under the real value, because of the condition and upkeep), and we were both very happy with the deal. Also, the AOD was dealer rebuilt in the mid 90's, and that repair also included all of the changes that Ford did to the AOD over the years. After the AOD had to be rebuilt, he saw every repair as more and more money being put into a never ending money pit. Yea, it's a Mustang, it's suppose to be a money pit.
