I'm trying to find a new TPS sensor for my car, and I've found that we have two part numbers that apply to 94/95 Mustang GTs. One is about $50, the other about $90, and I can't find what the functional or mechanical difference is between the two. And I don't have my stock TPS anymore to reference.

Anybody have any idea what the difference between the two is?

I only remember that when I was trying to get a new TPS, I had to give them the numbers on the back of the tps, for the same thing you are talking about. I bet they just are too lazy to update their computers so they do it this way. Same problem with the IAC valve for our cars.

Honestly, I am guessing that the other number is for a fox TPS and the other is ours. And I would also bet ours is the more expensive one!!! Red-headed step child theory.

I got a quote for a new timing cover from Ford (over $500) and I just laughed.

I don't think that is it -- I found pictures of both sensors, and they are definitely both 94/95 style. Look identical to me. I really can't imagine what changed ... I guess I'll just buy the cheaper one and keep my fingers crossed .

I can't imagine what difference our TPS could have from 94-95?

I swear it was the more expensive one though. But if it works, then we know not to fall for their scam and buy the more expensive one.

Post back and let us know please!

AFAIK the Cobra and the GT use the same TB (and MAF, too). Electrically, the fox TPS works on our cars, so if the connector did not change between the two listed ones for 94/95, I'm not sure what did. Ah well. I'll be finding out next week probably, I'll post back. It'll be nice to finally get the old girl running again... she's been a bit neglected lately .
