I found a 75 V8 granada. Do all V8 cars have the 11" rotors? If it does happen to be the 10" rotors can I just buy new 11" rotors and use the granada spindles, brackets and calipers from a 10" donor car? thanks

What I have found...

Ok in all my research I have found reference ONLY on the web to a 10" rotor...

I have checked ford parts manuals, parts house manuals, and looked a several cars including 2 v6's...

I have NEVER seen or seen reference to a 10" rotor...

Now...I am NO EXPERT but I have researched this to no end...as I was going to put granada discs on my fastback...I have now decided to go with the SSBC...

like 300 more than granada...but I can use my existing 69 GT chrome wheels...More money to spend else where on the car...

I have heard many talk about rattling and noisy brakes with this setup...

IN addition...if you use and aftermarket suspension...negative wedge kit, tubular control arms and such you end up with some strange geometry issues...

Look into the wilwood kit if you are considering Granada... 650 should be going price...it does increase your track like 3/8" so be aware of that for back spacing...

the nice thing about the granada brake swap is that ALL 75-80 granadas and monarchs used the same brake rotor, 11". even the six cylinder cars used the same rotor.

There are a lot of people on the web that will tell you that the six cylinder cars came with 10" rotors though. I'm not sure where this misinformation is coming from but I have pulled many a Granada spindle and brake setup in the salvage yard and all were the same, 8 and 6 cylinders alike.

There were some years of 6s that used 'light duty' spindles and small rotors.
This may have changed year to year, but I have seen the small spindles and brakes on a 6 car, the same car I bought the 9" rear out of!
Ford was notorious for dumping parts into a car, not based on what it needed, but rather what they had on hand...
So it stands to reason the 9" got in that 6 car because they didn't have an 8" handy when that car was going down the line.
Using the same logic, alot of 6 cars could have gotten the large brakes/spindles just because they were waiting when that car came down the line.
You probably will not see a 8 car with little brakes though. Overkill is acceptable from a safety/engineering standpoint, but to use a weaker part would be a 'no-no'.
I wouldn't worry about what the parts come off of, just measure it and make sure it is the part you want.

the thing is though that the granadas ALL used the same spindles and brakes from 75-80. to verify this all oyu have to do is check your local parts place, and have them compare the part numbers, and you will find that they are the same between the six and the V8. with the fox body cars you have different sizes of brake rotors. the 4 and 6 cylinder cars all got a 9" rotor, and the 8 cylinder cars got a 10" rotor, including the mustang and the 81 up granada, untill the 87 model year when the V8 mustangs got an 11" rotor and everything else got a 10" rotor. the only one that was different in the fox body cars was the lincoln lsc and the svo mustang.
