ok have new MSD distributor. but i can't get a rachet to it cause the bottom of the distributor is too low. so the socket won't go over the bolt completely.
is there another tool to use to get to this dam thing? i'm also limited to the very few tools that i have. but if need be will go out and buy.
thanks for any replies.

Are you able to fit an open end wrench down there?

i'm planning on buying a set of open wrenches tomorrow. but still it's tight around that damn bolt.

i hope they do make a tool for it. cause anything that makes the process of removing the old one and install a new one, easier and quicker. is the tool for me

they make a closed end wrench that is bent at a 90* angle that a lot of people use. I asways use a 1/4" drive rachet with a short socket, swivel, and 24" extension.

i dont know how low it is compared to a stocker - worst case, you should be able to buy a cheap wrench and bend it up to fit in there (if you cant get a special wrench for it)....been there and done that.
on the stocker, i use a 1/4 drive with a universal swivel joint dealie (and 2 feet of extensions). good luck.

the old one is a stocker, oh i forgot to let you guys know it a 95 cobra. you know the odd ball 94 - 95 years. that 1/4 socket with a swivel doesn't work. with a big ass extension. i was at it for almost 45 minutes there's just not enough room for the socket setup. the distributor is just to low. i will most likely need a open ended wrench with a bend in it. have to stop by my old mans garage and raid his old tool box. could swear i saw one of those wrenches with a 90* bend in it.

but still wondering if they make a tool for it since its' a PITA to get to? wish i had my camera so i could show you guys. thanks for the help.

I know my dad has a boxed end wrench that is angled perfectly for that I have no clue where it came from but it's really freakin old. He bought it at a swap meet in florida in the 70's it works like a charm. I also use swivel sockets if I have to ( the kind with the swivel as part of the socket). Good luck

I think the tool you may need is called a crows foot. Its basically just the head of an open ended wrench, that you can stick on the end of a 1/4, 3/8 etc extension.

They make distributer wrenches. Sears sells them. They come in two sizes. I think they are about $10.
