What can be done for the difficult shifting? I just purchased a 2006 V6 Premium 5 speed and have a hard time changing gears (feels really rough). What options do I have? Is this common?

Are you missing the gate - or is it just too firm going in?

Too firm and reverse feels like there is a lot of resistance. Am I wrong in expecting a new car would shift better than a tractor? Joking aside that is what it feels like at times

while its somewhat normal for the shifter to be firm for awhile, if its uncomfortable to use - take it in for service!

hopefully there are some adjustments that can be made that will smooth it up ...

good luck,

Mine's the same way, it is loosening up more and more as I'm putting some miles on it, but I'll bet the best cure is going to be an aftermarket shifter.

I wish my 2006 V6 had an adjustable cluch pedal. I am 5'8" and like to sit back in my seat. I have difficulty starting the car because the clutch has to be pressed into the firewall. (By the way, my F150 has adjustable pedals....)
