I just got some BBK longtubes on my car. The dip stick seems hopeless as to going back on. Do you have to get a new dipstick tube or what? The headers are from a foxbody and are working perfectly except for this and slight clearance with the clutch fork. Thanks for any help!

I had to get a Lokar Flexible stainless dipstick tube to get the proper clearance, but I also have MAC headers... It will probably work for you as well, but cost around $40 from Summit...

I first did buy a Lokar for my lt's and it was a nightmare. Everybody seems to have no problem with it but for me, it just didnt wanna go in and ended up breaking it trying to stick it in. And yes I had the CORRECT part number. I simply bought a FMS chrome short dipstick that works like a charm. Simply perfect for the lt's. Dont even have to bend it. Here's the link for it.

If I knew about the FRPP one, I probably would be using it now.. but at the time, the Lokar was it... Plus it fit great in my case, so I'm happy.

Great more parts to order. Anybody also happen to know a ARP bolt that works on the GT40 heads? (please only chime in if you are 100% sure) I used the stock bolts haven't even run the car and am having my doubts about them working ok considering the BBK has a thicker flange.

I just had to bend the stocker ever so slightly to work with my Macs.

IMHO That Lokar Flexible stainless dipstick tube is a piece of ****. It might be flexible but it doesnt mean that the dipstick is going to go in without major manipilation if you have much of a bend in it. I would not recommend one of these to anyone.

After LTs my stocker had to be zip-tied to an AC line....I bought a chrome one out of FRPP #M6750-C303
It fit right between the header tubes and actually bolted right to the correct location on the header bolt..cost 15.00 or so..

I have to admit.. that Lokar didn't work with my shorty headers... but once I put the LT's on.. it was a perfect match... and I have no problems pulling out, or pushing in the dipstick...
