dipstick

hey guys i went to check my oil today and when i pulled out the dipstick that whole thing came with it i mean the part where you stick the dipstick into is this a big problem and can it be driven like this?

The tube part of the assembly goes into the oil pan or block, I can't remember. There isn't going to be a lot of oil coming out of the hole, but you could see a little. I am sure that if you look, you can plug the tube back in to the hole.

And dont drive it with nothing plugging the hole.

Should just push right back in. I thought it was bolted on with one of the header bolts to keep it in place.

oh ok thanks guys it was bolted to the header bolt but the part on the dipstick houseing rotted off thanks for the replies

Use silcone to seal it back.
