Ok my engine bay is always sooooooooooooo freakin dirty. I cleam the heck out of it and all for nothing. 10 Mins of driving causes blackness to start covering the engine bay parts. I don't know if it's because I have a small exhaust leak on my manifold and it's spreading the blackness, am i just picking up tar off the road, is it dry serpentine belt shavings, or what. I can tell you one thing that could be to blame. I took off the black guard off the bottom of the bumper. Could that be allowing road grime to get up in there? What do you guys use to clean your engine bay to keep it clean and bling bling? Thanks in advance

I have not heard of engines getting that dirty so fast unless you are grinding away something like your idler pulley or something. Road tar can not be that bad unless you are having it picked up on fresh tar roads. :shug: I usually keep mine wiped down a lot especially after bringing it home from a drive but that is not to feesable if it is a daily driver. I use a steamer on my motor or other motors to clean them unless they are super dirty and greasy then they get a bath.

By "dirty", is it oily/grimy? Or is it just dust and dirt and crap?

If it's the first answer, when was the last time you checked/replaced the PCV valve and other emissions components? I had a plugged PCV valve a while back, and crankcase mist was all over the place.
