I finally got the pig out to the track and ended up only getting her to a 14.1 @98. This seems slow for what I've done to it. (check out my sig) Are my expectations too high? What is everyone else running with a vert on an aode?

I know I need to get it tuned to dial everything in and get rid of the timing pull while shifting but........come on!! 14.1???

I'm running Mickey's and the stock throttle body (70mm is on order)

....don't laugh at her........

You forgot to give us your sixty foot

If you insist on using drag strip results as a measure of success

You ABSOLUTELY MUST get efficient at producing the best sixty foot
you can without a compromise that you can't live with :Word:

You see ... if you take one tenth off your sixty foot

That is gonna yield you 1.5 to 2.0 tenths reduction of et

Now ... You say this was your first shake down run

It is V E R Y rare anybody does all that good with a new combo their
first time out

Just relax

It will take you a while to find what your combo likes

You know ... Stuff Like

Launch rpm
Shift rpm
Tire pressure
Coolant temp
yada yada yada

Don't make the mistake of throwing more hot rod parts at it with the thinking
more power is gonna make it all better

Just dial in the combo you now got and you will see the et fall like a rock

Good Luck!

With what you have, I think you have a good amount left in it...but a tune is something you probably really need at this point.

For an untuned combo with an AODE with a stall...not too bad. Your mph is about right for the time ran and I think a tune would wake it up a bit. My guess if it was a 5spd coupe car it would be a 13.4-13.6 car. Add the weight and bigger % of drivetrain loss I would expect low 14 or high 13's. When it is all said and done it should be a solid mid-low 13 second ride if you can get a good 60 out of it. Add to all this your running a vert and you have even more weight against you...94-95 auto verts are the slowest to start with so really...not all that bad IMHO.

60ft really is the key, the rest is just keeping the foot on the gas and hitting the breaks at the end.
