My list of needs has put my list of wants on hold for awhile (Damn, I really wanted to paint the car. Oh well)

Currently I have 65 coupe with 4 drums, and a single chamber master cylinder and no emergency brake.

Here is what I want:
4 wheel disc brakes, dual cylinder master, and a power booster.

Does all of this have to be done at once? I am concerned if I get a dual chamber MC I can't install it now w/ my drums and add the discs next payday. It seems that none of these parts are universal enough to slowly build up to the setup I want.

I deally, I would like to get the master cylinder then in a few weeks, get the front discs, then a bit later get the power booster, and finally the rear discs and install all these things as I go.

Is that at all possible?

If not, what is the process for doing so, and what will all of this cost?

1: dual chamber master cylinders come in three types
a: drum/drum
b: disc/drum
c: disc/disc

you cannot interchange the three due to residual check valves built into each master cylinder(usually the disc/disc has no check valves, but some have 2lb check valves which will not work with drum brakes as they need 10lb check valves). best to buy the parts you need for your complete system, and install everything at once. you can buy the parts over time, get the calipers, second to last and the master cylinder last. you can also get the front disc brakes settup you want, along with the disc/drum m/c, and install those, then upgrade to disc/disc later, along with upgrading to a disc/disc m/c. a third option would be to get the disc/disc mc/ when you put front disc's on, and buy an inline residual check valve, and install it in the rear brake line. remember to remove it when you upgrade to rear disc's.
