disconnecting alarm system

I have a '96 Mustang convertible with an stock Ford active (vs. passive) alarm system. I can't just disconnect the alarm system in the trunk because it disables the car.

The reason I want to take it off is that it goes off anytime the car gets wet. The Ford dealer can't figure it out, and they don't know how to disconnect the alarm system without harming the function of the car.

Does anyone know how to specifically disconnect the alarm system?

I get sick of having to disconnect the battery to everytime I stop the car, and and then reconnecting it to start it again.

It still won't work, it's got a starter kill. So when the alarm is either interupted or going off the car wont' start.

I wish it was that easy. I was told that first, and I tried removing all kinds of fuses, but that doesn't work.

Any other ideas?

If anyone can just tell me which wires to cut, or disconnect, or bypass - ANYTHING!!!!

i bet the computer is programmed not to allow the car to start if the alarm has been dis-engaged (assuming the car came from the factory w/ an alarm). its near impossible to steal our stangs w/o the key, so it wouldnt surprise me if Ford did something like that.

I had a reply from one guy from Italy that I probably need to get in touch with. If you are a car thief, apparently, it's easy. It's a ford stock alarm, and it's "active" whatever that means. There has got to be a way to disengage it. The thiefs have it figured out - I need someone from our group to figure it out. CALLING ALL CAR THIEVES - PLEASE DISENGAGE MY ALARM!!!

you dont have to disconnect the battery every time you leave the car. just lock the doors manually, (dont use the remote and dont use the power locks). this will keep the alarm from turning on passive mode.

U have to take it somewhere to get it removed. That's all I can say
