distributer question ? need help

Will the distributer from a lincoln,ltd or any other 5.0 car work in my 92 mustang? Is it the same distributer they put in the mustang? Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure but I'd think so ...You could ask ford or try and compare the 2 at a junk yard or something

Same thing.I've got a friend who's using a distributor from a 5.0 F-150 in his Stang.The rotor is different,but the function is the same.

Flat tappet cams used on non HO engines require a distributor with a cast iron gear. Roller cams like the one used in the EFI HO Mustangs require a steel distributor gear to match the steel camshaft. Use the wrong distributor and it will chew up the gears.
