Distributor does not move and ticking sound

Ok guys, has anyone ever had a Distributor that once you remove the hold down screw it wont budge, it's seems to be seized, any ideas? Also when I drive I hear a ticking sound coming from the left side of the motor, it gets louder as I press the gas. I thought it was an exaust leak but it does not seem to be, any ideas thanks.

Saturate the area at the base of the distributor with carb cleaner. This will help loosen years of residue just under the base. Try working the distributor back and forth and keep spraying it. It should eventually work free. As for the ticking noise, could be a loose rocker or weak lifter.
