Engine Distributor Question

I know I’ve seen this somewhere, but ......

I have an 85 motor (roller) with a B cam. I want to use the stock distributor from an 84 302 in this motor. Is there a problem in ,atching these two up?

The 84/85 distributors are the same. The 79-85 carbed motors have interchangeable distributors.

I guess I shouyhave mentioned it’s an auto with Eli. My understanding was that flat-tapper engines could not use the distributor out of a roller engine. Thanks for the response. I need to slow down and get everything down

The roller cam needs to have a steel gear.
If you’re running efi I would just get a distributor for a 86-93 mustang, that would be ideal.

You can get a rebuilt stock dist for quite cheap.

LSO Oreilys has one for likr85$ bucks brand new.Its got new ign module and cap n rotor hard to beet that w life warranty.
