I need a distributor, so I started looking things up on them. I have a '66 with a 289, BUT, i'll be swapping a 331 roller from my '94.
I've seen 3 different size distributor shafts, .467, .500, and .531
What works with what motor, and when did they switch this over? It seems to be very vague, and I've even found one suggestion that "anything will just drop right in and work." I highly doubt it.
I know I'll need a different GEAR (steel/iron) depending on the cam, of which, I don't know what the 289 has. I just need to run the car enough to make sure everything is good, then it's over to my buddies house to do the engine/tranny swap. This also will let me know what condition the motor is in.
