Diy Roush Active Exhaust?

I have been looking at the Roush quad tip kip that includes a passive pair of outlets that have b-off plates. Rather than spending the $1700 for the Roush kit, I was wondering if anyone has heard of using the electric valves (header dump) from Jegs/Summit. Seems like this would be a helluva lot more cost effective.

I've seen A Lot of youtubers doing this on dodges. That might unrestrict airflow to the point of needing a tune.

Oooh, didn't take the tune part of things into consideration. Probably get away with a tune in the middle of both open and closed to work across the board. Good point.

I'm no expert in tuning but I would tend to think that you would be able to flash the car with a conservative tune that would be able to compensate for open vs closed. May want to have an actual catback system on the car though because they flow WAY better than stock.

I hear the quad system is pretty loud. I'd like to get rid of the resonator and use it with the block off plates. I like the quad look and hate the fact there's a smart car sized box of hush in the exhaust system. The block off plates should make it neighborhood friendly....ish.
