Do GTs have different spings/shocks?

Did 93 mustang GTs have different springs and shocks than a 93 V8 notchback? I ask because I have a notch and I'm looking at a website that claims the tokico shock/spring package is for 87-93 GTs. It didn't say GT only though, but the only one they sell is "for GT". The company doesn't specialize in ford, so they might be assuming every 87-93 V8 was a GT.

I worry that since the rear of a GT weighs a significant amount more than my notch, a higher rate spring could leave my notch's rear end sitting up a few inches too high. Did the stock GTs have different rear springs/shocks than a V8 notch?

Gt's have the same shock/spring combo as 5.0L LX's

However, they are completely different from those found in 2.3L LX's. It's just easier when you go shopping for parts to tell the guy you have a GT....especially when you go to a parts store like autozone or pep boys.

Thanks, but it just seems strange. I've been told the rear of a GT weighs about 200 lbs more than the rear of a notch.

It's not 200 pounds, but the hatch does way a lot more than the trunk does. Plus the notch doesn't have the rear ground effects like the GT's. It's probably only 75 pounds in the back.

Most of the weight difference is up front when some notches are not equiped with A/C or power windows and locks and lighter seats.

Still not enough to matter to ford to design different springs

Not that I care.....and regardless of the fact that this post is really old...but ya'll TOTALLY missed the joke posted response on this thread (HINT: Sping..what the hell is a sping?.."post title") .... but I"m not gripin'....

And just so ya know...I know what a freakin SPRING is....

Finding this post again a month later made me chuckle..
Have a nice day!
