I just got the car this week. The dealer I got it from didnt know to much about it as far as mods go. So I have confirmed the cam with the previous owner. Now I think this car may have gears. The gears are way shorter than the 2.73's would be, I had a 91 notch and these gears are much shorter, and it pulls alot harder also. So I found a chart on hear that matches your RPMs and speed to different gear ratios. Just took the car out and I matched every # exactly with the chart for 3.73's. Is this chart accurate?I know it has more gear than 2.73,just trying tomake sure its 3.73's. What do ya think?

heres the chart I used, post #11.

I find with 3.73's if you drive the car in 4th gear your RPM's should be half your mph. So if you're going 60 mph in 4th then your tach should read about 3000 rpms. And if you're going say... 40mph in 4th your RPMs should be real close to 2000.

Well at 3000rpms in 1st gear my speed was 20mph
2nd gear was 32mph
3rd gear was 46mph
4th gear was 62mph
I didnt do 5th gear. So does that look like 3.73's?

Raise up the rear of the car and mark a line along the driveshaft. Spin the tire one whole revolution and either look under or have a buddy watch to see how many times the mark on the driveshaft goes around. If it's just short of 4, 3.73s, if it's 3 and a half 3.55s, if it's 3, 3.08s etc.
