Do I have SN95 spindles?

My car was converted to 5-lug discs all the way around before I bought it. Is the 94-95 spindle the only way to convert to a 5-lug disc? I'm looking into going with a 13" Cobra set up but I'm not sure if I need to start looking for a set of spindle too. Is there an easy way to tell the difference between spindles, visual cues, casting numbers, etc.?

Got a part number? If not see if the dust cap has been smashed in. I am pretty sure the lincoln front spindles would not clear any 94-04 wheels without bashing the dustcap in. If it is intact, you probably have the SN95 spindles.

Take off a front wheel and jiggle the rotor from the bottom. If it jiggles, then it's probably an sn95 spindle/hub/rotor assembly. The fox and lincoln rotor has a one piece hub and rotor (the bearings go right into the rotor) the sn95 has a separate hub behind the rotor.

I've found pictures of the SN95 spindle. Can anyone post a picture of a Fox spindle for comparison?

That would be a 94-95 Spindle which is the most desirable of the SN95 spindles.

I see you have "Saleen stuff" Is it possible you have the Saleen all disc setup? It is the same disc setup on the SVO and the Mark VII cars, mounted on the stock Fox spindles. And like was stated, the EASIEST way to tell for sure what setup you have is to take the front wheel off and try to wiggle the rotor. The rotor should move some on the wheel studs. The SN95 fronts have a separate hub with the studs attached, that is mounted to the spindle with a center nut, and then the rotor slips on the hub - the lug nuts are NOT part of the rotor. The Saleen/SVO/ Mark VII setup has the studs mounted in the rotor and the rotor can not be wiggled on the spindle since it is bolted directly to the spindle. Another note is the SN95 spindles have short plastic dust caps on the hubs, while all the Fox ones I've seen have taller metal dust caps.

Okay, so I pulled my wheel off and the studs are pressed into the rotors with the tall metal dust caps.

What kind of options do I have for an affordable 13" front kit using these spindles?

Sounds like Linclon rotors... If the rotor can come by itself(hat style) and the studs stay in place on hub assembly , then you have SN-95 stuff..

You have basically the stock spindles and rotors, just with 5 lugs.

If you want the 13" disc brakes, you need 17" wheels to start with. After that, you need new spindles, hubs, rotors, calipers, brake lines, MC and conversion parts.

I know Baer sells some kits for the stock spindles, but they are complete kits front and back for $2,000+. I would just get some used SN95 spindles ($75-150 set on www.car-part.com), the Ford Cobra brake upgrade kit ($400 or so), plus the other parts you need (MC, and if you need it, depending on how it was already converted to all disc, the adapters, PV stuff, etc $100-250 or so). So for $600-850 or so max you can get the 13" front rotors with your existing rear disc. Even less if you shop around and find good used bargains. You might only need the MC if your conversion was done correctly and they used a 2 port MC and adjustable PV. You may not even need a new MC if it is a SN95 one already.

Take some time reading through Matt's website and compare the parts you have to the recommended parts for the conversion......maybe even take some pics so we could help identify exactly what you are staring with.
