Do I need my AC recharged?

You could have a freon leak or your A/C switch is bad. Once the freon goes low, the compressor won't turn on.

if it's low again then you definitly have a leak.freon just doesn't run out.have someone put dye in it and check the system.it's way more accurate than a sniffer.

mine was leaking, so i put new o-rings on all the hoses and recharged it.
Works great and cost me about 45.00 bucks. r-134 conversoin kit and line removal tools included. Pulling the lines loose from the condenser was a PIA though!

I agree w/ Mr B - my 88 GT had no working air (bone dry for years) and I went to the local auto parts store and bought the 134 conversion kit - separated the lines and installed new o rings where the old ones were leaking with special spring clip seperator tools (buy some and keep them for later use on other things) charged it with the special oil for 134 and then 134 freon with the supplied screw on valve adapters and supplied 134 freon cans and rubber hose - took about 1.5 hrs overall on a completely empty system - charged it up and it worked like a charm for years - they even sell a "booster" small can to make the system even colder - used that too - loved it.
