I'm lowering my fox body and using Tokico blues w/ Steeda cc plates
Do I use strut bushings w / CC pLATES. I was about to buy PROTHANE
strut tower bushing kit. Do I need it.

I know someone knows the answer.
When I replace struts and add CC plates, do use any busings or bunp stops or does strut just mount up thru existing opening and attach to new CC plates.
What do I need?
Thanks

It really depends on how much you plan on lowering your car. I haven't lowered mine, but I am pretty sure that after 1.5" you will need C/C plates.

I can't tell you about the bump steer or offset rack bushings

Aftermarket C/C plates, or I should say good ones, don't require them because most go to a bearing type of setup and eliminate the use/need for bushings (then bearings are what replace them in the first place). Also, a good brand should include spacers to aid in strut height adjustment with regards to lowering.

Also, the strut bushings can be reused or a good c/c plate should come with new ones. If you have bilstein struts then the bumpstop is not needed because they have internal stops.

I bought Tokico Blues with Steeda CC plates. Neither came with bumpstops or bushings I understand the new mounting design just didnt know if I needed to buy any other bushings(rubber or poly) to do the job right.
I saw Mcpherson strut bushing mounts by Prothane and wondered if they were only for use when replacing struts w/o changing to CC plates.

I'm not familiar with steedas but i'm pretty sure (correct me if i'm wrong), then come with sperical bearings. Just look at what you received in the box and pay attention to what they say attatches the stut to the plate. If it is a bearing, then you are fine. Just about the only setup that uses a bushing for the strut mount that I know of is the stock setup though.

I use QA1 C/C plates and coilovers on my 91 and I did not use the mushroom shaped bushing on top of the factory strut setup. No problems, just noisy, but I knew that going into the deal
