iv been looking at new rims for my 2013 stang... when you try to buy the rims they offer the tire pressure monitoring system thing, however im keeping the tires that came with my mustang on just putting new rims.. do i need this tire monitor? or is it just for if you buy new tires and rims for your car at the same time? help! i dont know if that makes sense! but any idea would be great thank you!

Since you are going to use your stock tires, just tell them to pull out your current TPMS and put them in the new wheels.

Yup, that's what'd I do. You don't need the TPM Sensors, but you'll get an annoying orange light and when you start the car it'll tell you every single freakin time that the TPMS System has failed. It's really easy to replace them. The tire shop can do it in no time.

Tire Rack sells sensors for about $40 per wheel, and you'll have to have a Ford dealer reset your computer to recognize the new sensors when the wheels are installed. The computer can recognize two sets of wheels, which is what I needed to do as I install a second set of rims w/snow tires for the winter.
