Do i need to buy this for gears?

Usually if you use FOrd gears and your rear end is in decent shape you don't need them. WHen i had my gears done, all i gave to the guy were the gears themselves. He had to buy one bearing but i forget which. Anyway all the old shims and stuff transferred and lined up great. 30,000 miles later not a peep
