I was thinking running the cable IN the car,under the cover on the driver side rocker.?! I dont want the cable to be damage by something on the road...

I'm with you, I ran mine behind the back seat, cut a slit in the carpet at the edge of the back seat and ran it up to the firewall and through the big steering column grommet.
I have a steel rear shock tower brace and ran the battery ground to the right shock bolt. So far so good....
