There are four plastic clips; two on top and two on the bottom. You can see the bottom two in the pic above, towards the front lip. You need to pry up all four to get it out, and it's a PITA IMO. You do not need to remove it to remove the center radio/hvac bezel, however. You remove the radio to get to the single screw back near the firewall, and there is one screw at the bottom covered by the shifter bezel.
What cyhthar said, but it is a PITA. Careful with those clips as when I removed mine I cracked one way to easily. I found the best tool to use is a small flat head screw driver, like these. Then take 4 dimes and prop them under the clips to hold them open. That's just my 2 cents.
somehow im able to pull mine by hand. i slighly pull down on the top part and wiggle it and then at the same time i pull the bottom up too. kind like pinching it. just be careful .
