Do you carry a toolbox in your Fox? If so, what's in it?

Putting together an in-car "emergency" tool kit of basics in case something happens on the road. Do you have one? What's in it?

So far in mine:

Spare TFI, tool and heatsink grease
misc common size wrenches (9/16, 1/2", etc)
knife
pliers
tire plug repair kit
valve stem caps
spare dist rotor
reglar and phillips screwdriver
tire pressure gauge
pen
sharpie

That's extra weight!

I keep and allen wrench set a crescent wrench, an extra plug wire, a serpantine belt, and a set of jumper cables.

Edit:

Oh... and I have one of those multi-screwdrivers that rides in the top of the radiator.

I have an SN-95 w/ a modular engine and therefore I don't need tools cause it don't break down

Knock on wood, none of my Stangs has ever stopped me by the road. I tend to be a little over zealous on my maintenence schedule, so I don't worry about that kind of stuff a whole lot. If we take a road trip, like our recent drive from Seattle to LA and back, I pack up a Craftsman tool bag with a few basics: 1/4 drive socket set, some basic wrenches, my electric impact, socket and breaker bar for the tensioner, etc. I've never had to use them on my car, but have helped a couple of friends out that have had trouble.

my 86 gt was a pile of ****. i kept a couple tfi's and a shaved down 5.5mm socket, and spare header bolts and all kinds of crap i dont remember lol

my 89 lx, I had some gt40x heads shaved like .060 on it, and it liked to bend pushrods, so i kept a 7/16 and a half on me, and about 10 pushrods. lol i would stop on the side of the road and change them, lol it would take me all of 10 mins and i would pull off and keep going. but I drove that thing 130+ miles a day.

my 7up car never had any problems.

my 98 gt, never let me down either. except when it froze up last winter, and the rad cap blew off.

the notch hasnt let me down ever.

I carry nothing and heres why; One thing I've learned about working on my own cars, I NEVER, EVER, have the tool I need. I either have to go back into the house or to the parts store.

My in-car toolbox looks like this:

99 times out of 100, I'd rather just get it towed home and fix it there.

I have a mini tool kit, air gauge, and a cigarette lighter powered air pump. Haven't ever had to use the tools yet. The air pumps have been good for air adjustments at the track, helping out coworkers with flats, etc.

I've never had to use any of my stuff either, but goodo to have. In both my cars, i keep a breaker bar, 6" extension and whatever socket is needed for the lug nuts. Beats the lug wrench they usually supply, and a heavy breaker bar is sometimes good to have.

I also keep a quart of oil as wlel

I don't eff around, i carry a 155 piece Craftsman mechanics tool set and usually a small floor jack. Weight only matters to me at the track, where i take all that stuff out. I've needed it and used it all so many times, it's "aggravation insurance" to me.

It's always the stuff that you'd never expect that seems to be a problem for me. The only issue I've had in the past 3+ years has been a TFI module that became buggy out of nowhere. Tough to do anything about that unless you happen to have a spare and the special tool.

I'm usually only driving the car to a show anyway, and I keep some things in my detailing bag to cover fixing anything that's "most likely to break". Never needed any of them except a screwdriver to fix a radiator clamp that became loose, though.

If I get a flat, I'm calling AAA because I never replaced the OEM spare with a 5-lugger that'll fit my swap.

In actually ride with a 17" bullitt wheel in the hatch because cobra 17" spares are ridiculous in cost! People want $150+ for them!

Can't wait til I find a cheap spare so I can. 1.) ditch the weight, 2.) have the rear carpet lay flat and 3.) sell the bullitt wheel for some $$$

I have been meaning to check and see if the 05 and newer spares would work on our cars instead of the Cobra Spares. I gotta spend some time and put together some sort of tool kit and pack it in the Stang.
