Reason I'm asking, I heard if you have street tires you shuoldnt really burn out much before a run. Taking the mustang to the track today for the first time..

Also, what RPMs should I launch at? I'm all stock. Half cutch or dump?

youll have to play with the clutch and see what the tires like, usually put it at 2.5k and feather the clutch, just like a normal take off on the street, but just do it faster, youll see what im talking about, yes doing a burnout for a couple seconds does help at the track, I know there will be 3 thousand people say im wrong but it does help..

I just spin em for a second to clear off dirt and debris usually picked up in the pits.

Also, drive around the water box...not through it

With kine I go around the water, spin them for a second or two to clean them off then launch it at idle and slip the clutch while rolling on the throttle. Gives me consistent mid 1.9 60's on the radials.

go around the boxes, I have to launch just under 2K. That was with the 245" on the rear though. I have 275's now though so we'll see.
