I forget who it was a couple of years ago (may have been Eades) that told me about using the Fans from a Dodge VIper since they flow way better AND are thinner... Does anyone have any info on this, links, prices, installs, etc?

Thanks
RC

I've heard of this as well and from what I know most people get the fans off of ebay, but they are NOT cheap...

Im not that worried about cost....all it takes is one major incident of overheating to wipe out all the savings of not spending money to keep the car cool...specially with all the bling and here in S. FL.

Just need to get more info.
Thanks

Dang. They are expensive...$800??? for the FAN???. Why don't you just go Aftermarket fan and radiator all together for less? Doesn't fluidyne make the combo???

For $800 bucks I would just do a nice 3-row rad and a Taurus fan w/ a top of the line controller.

They are brand new $800 from a dealer. which one do you have to use? Gen 1 or Gen 2 or Gen 3? I know someone who works at dodge. May be he can get it for cheaper? You want new right?

Use the Gen 2 fan. A buddy of mine got one last year at our local Dodge dealership for under $200 to put on his 72 Monte Carlo. It keeps that boat cool! Socal dakotas also has them for around $220 I think. You need to look in the Dakota section, not the Viper section. For $800, it is either a Gen 3 fan or the dealership is raising the price big time just because it is for a Viper.

Why dont you get the Spal twin 11" fans and a controller??? IMO it's a better fan I can confirm it's cooling a 95' cobra with a t-trim making 745 RWHP in 100+ california HUMID heat!! And it's like $250-300

Im always interested in learning/trying new things...Got some info and/or links to the item and/or install?

I liked the Viper b/c it was very thin and flowed like 4000 cfu. Do you have the info on this fan?

Thanks

It was ONEBAD that ran this fan but I talked about getting one for years. They are bad boys, and only 206$

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=DCC-5007266&N=700+115&autoview=sku

Charlie even took measurements. The cool thing is the "slats" on the side open up when driving from flow and really help cool down the radiator.

Hope this helps some

Chris

T-trim 1yrs (643rw) Phoenix, AZ

No cooling issues at all, Fluidyne, 180 Stat, FMS Water pump. Summers here are 115*, and Winters are 75* haha

Thanks

I do remeber reading something about 4000 CFM also for some reason, I'm almost sure the Summit one is the one Charlie ran though...could be wrong.

Here is a few others that may help
