I do remeber reading something about 4000 CFM also for some reason, I'm almost sure the Summit one is the one Charlie ran though...could be wrong.

Nope...just looking for a way to spend more money

Actually, just want the BEST cooling possible for my setup, and something thinner than the stock fan so I have more space....also to control the fan independent of the engine...Just researching.

The one listed from Summit is the Gen1 fan. The Gen2 fan is the one that flow 4000 cfm. They are still around the same price, though I don't think Summit has the Gen2. Socal Dakotas have them for $220 though.

I too just want a fan that is thinner and flow more cfm. My Procharger pipe comes down right where the fan is and makes it hard to get around. I also like the fact that the Viper fans have the flaps on them to allow more air across the radiator at cruising speeds.

Does anyone know if the Gen 1 fans are as thin as the Gen 2 fans and if they flow better than our stock mustang fans?

Im not sure of our stock CFM.

Thanks

The Gen2 fans are thinner. The Gen1 fan motor is also a little offset so that might interfere with something. Our stock fan flows, I think, around 2800 CFM on high and the Gen 1 flows around 2750, if memory serves me correctly. The low speed of the Gen2 has a higher CFM rating than our high speed. Also, the Gen2 fan has a high start up amp rate but the constant amp rating it lower than our fan but still pulls more air.
