Does anybody know anything about this new Comp Cams camshaft?

I am in the process of installing this fuel injection system on my car now. I came across this new cam when I searched Comp Cams for a stronger cam than the XE266HR I am currently using. The XE274HR looked real good and then I read about this new one.

Since it is made specifically for stroked and fuel injected engines I am very tempted to install one. I have not been able to find anybody who has installed one or even a magazine article about one. I guess it is too close to its release for me to find out much more.

I will be adding a Gear Vendor overdrive unit during the winter as well, and since I will have the trans out or at least apart I could upgrade from my stock torque converter to something to take full advantage of the available power. So, does anybody know anything or have any opinion on this camshaft?

Call comp and see what they have to say. I think its going to be one of those to new for anybody to know type things and somebody has to be the guinea pig

Been there, done that.

I made two phone calls, the first tech told me these cams were intended for high displacement strokers. After I got off the phone I went back and read the release a second time. It seems that he must not know these were intended for 5.0 strokers, while a 347 is larger than a 331, I don't think the 16 cubes is that big a difference.

The second guy was only marginally better, when I asked about the cam he told me they were great. I had to continually prompt him with questions and the answers about what equipment my stroker has on it.

It seems that training and product knowledge could use a little improvement.

Any Specs?

For them to say they have two "miracle cams", is a little on the ambiguous side... typical of marketing.
Somewhere they should have all the specs, that is what I'd want to see.

Personally I see no reason why a cam would be different in an EFI application vs Carbed. Perhaps with a speed density system where you need to keep good vacum at idle...
