Does anyone box or fight MMA?

I do MMA as a hobby. I plan on being the corner for my really close friend. I'm very novice in the sport and really don't know much about the pro's in the business, but I've been fighting with the above mentioned friend and learning about the sport. I did box some in high school. I really need to lose weight before I can compete though. I'm 6'4" and 225lbs and I would get destroyed at that weight. I'm trying to get down to 185 (LOL) so I can strike the **** out of people :)

Do u train with your friend alot?? I train atleast 5 days a week!

I've taken a break for many months due to craziness in my own life, but for many months I had begun training Muay Thai. I have no interest in MMA though. It was simply another facet of Thai culture i wanted to learn. Dunno if I will have time to put my self in a gym next summer (in Northern Thailand) or even if I will have time to return to the gym here in PA due to school/work.

I play around with boxing, I'm 5'11, have dropped weight recently for summer, down to 165 or so. When I was lifting hard over the winter I weighed 175, still had a pretty nasty 8 pack and benched 245, now I'd be lucky to get 215. I really want to get into a gym and start training more seriously, but pretty soon I'm hoping to start fire academy/EMT school and that will take priority. How much does a 5 time a week training cost? Is it just like you pay a fee, then get unlimited access to the facilities?

We actually dont pay anything, my coach just loves the sport and he lets everyone in free of charge!! We are in a medium size town though so we get any where from 10 to 40 ppl a day!!

So how did the fight go

I actually lost a dec. the scores were 39-37. I had alot of fun and I found out he actually had 250+ amature fights, so I really learned alot just being in the ring there. I beleive I lost it in the 4th round due to getting a point deducted for dropping my mouth piece! but over all it was a great exp!! Im gonna fight again oct 2nd!! in clovis NM!!

Nothing wrong with that :nice: Experience will only make you better so continue training until you reach your goal.
