Does anyone here have a tko-500

I have the tko-600 as far as i can tell its in its stock position. Feels great to me! And this is with the short pro 5.0 shifter handle...i imagine a handle like the tri-ax or one that comes back towards you more would put it closer to the driver.

Well, you will need a different bellhousing, different driveshaft because its 31 spline, clutch fork from a fox mustang, modify crossmemeber, and if i remember correctly you will need to change the clutch disc or change the whole clutch over.

The TKO-500 doesn call for a new clutch disc...that one is still 10 spline correct? Im not sure what spline the yoke comes in on the driveshaft for the 500.

But do a search, this has been covered a million and 1 times. I made a thread about installation when i first got mine.

You dont need to use a driveshaft spacer. I used a motorsport driveshaft that works with this transmission. You will need to change the clutch disc. The stock setup uses 10 spline and tremec uses either a 21 or 26 (cant remember). Whichever one it is its the same as a chevy disc since chevy uses this spline on their clutch disc.

I hope that driveshaft was longer than a driveshaft for a 94-95. If you use a driveshaft for a 94-95 then you need a spacer. It can be run without one but the yoke wont be inserted all the way causing problems.

The clutch disc is not a must. It depends on which TKO you get. They have a tko500 without the 26spline option...check www.ddperformance.com

I would really hate to quote myself because I did say that I purchased the Motorsport driveshaft which would mean that its not the 94-95. If I could have gotten away with the 94-95 without issues then I would have used it. I am not aware of the spline option. The one I purchased required the use of a different spline disc.

I have the FMS driveshaft and my stock T-5. That driveshaft is made for the T-5 & T-45's. So whoever just claimed that the motorsport D/S does not work for 94-95's has lost their mind. BTW if you want to spend all the money on tranny clutch disk spacers and crap. Why don't you just get a complete T-56 kit. Its much nicer and highway friendly. IMHO

No what I meant was the Motorsport driveshaft isnt the same driveshaft as 94-95 one. The one I purchased was balanced and set for the tremec. When I purchased the tremec it was back in 1999. T-56 would be a good route also. I believe they handle the same amount of torque.
