I finally put the a/c lineback in my car after like a year. The kid that was helping me said I can just go to napa or whatever and buy the freon refill kit and I would be good. Now this thing was empty for almost a year, is it that easy to just fill up or do I need to go to a shop to get if fixed/filled?

Bring it to a shop.....if you just recharge it now you still have all the moisture from the air in the lines. A shop will pretty much vacuum all that out before refilling it.

Thanks, I visited a few shops today and its gonna be like 90-115 to evac/recharge. What do you know about the dryer? They said if it sit for a while with no lines on it the moisture gets to it and I probably need a new one. It sat probably 6 months open while drove it through floridas winter, do I need a new one or what?

Yes, it is true I remember doing a little bit of A/C work at ford when I worked there and that did come up but I forgot what exactly happens. The dryer is the black canistor in the engine bay where the pressure switch or cycling switch sits on top of (next to the pass. header on the fire wall). Don't quote my on this but I think what happens is a 'slug' forms in the dryer. Even after evacuating the system it is still there. So when you just charge the system the slug will clogg your "orfice(sp?) tube" basically clogging the lines and causing more damage. They are NOT lying to you it "can" cause preoblems.

Just rent a vacuum pump from autozone and use it to get it to the recommended vacuum. Then refill the system on the drivers side fill port. It should take 3 & a half cans to fill the system, I think. Autozone also has a r-134a refill kit with a pressure gauge on it.
