Ok, so I recieved an "improper start" ticket from the myrtle beach police, which they say carries a $148 fine, but they were not sure about insurance points, does anyone know if it carries points, and if it does how easy is it to get that kind of thing dropped?

Myrtle Beach police can kiss my ass - they LIVE for the tourists - and throw the most bogus tickets at you leaving you like "WTF" is that - aka your improper start ticket.

No idea what kind of fine it carries - but I really don't think it will effect your record - sounds like a minor thing to me, not sure though.

It's a moving violation so most likely it carries points.

My favorite BS violation is "exhibition of acceleration". It totally goes by what the cop thinks is taking off too fast.

yes "improper start" is spinning tires, but its not nearly as BS as what my best friend got one time. He didnt stop all the way before doing a u-turn on business 17 and got a ticket for "failure to care" and no, im not lying.

My Uncle just got that ticket... guy's 42 and got "improper stopping and starting" in his LT1 vette. Anyway, he took it to court, said it was a new car at the time (it was) and that it was sandy out (it was before street sweepers so it was) and the judge changed it to something lame like a parking ticket and he didn't get points for it. Judge was just like be careful with road conditions from now on.

Same thing happens up at Old Orchard Beach (or the OOB as Striped5.0 would say I'm sure!!)... me and my fraternity brother were cruisin in his 98 GT, all he has is SLP loudmouths, and he got pulled over doing 12 in a 15 because his catback exhaust caused noise polution.

I forget what the ticket was for but beach police hate tourists.

a Friend of mine got a ticket in his 68 chevelle that read "improper display of horsepower"... 150$ ticket... but he did the same thing... went to court and said he had just go the car and didnt really know how to drive it, and they brought the charges down.

Glad I know a lot of the cops in my town lol. the one he's off now cause he was in a pretty bad accident told me one time i don't care what you do , you can drive around with your neons on as long as they don't flash. You can drive how you want as long as you don't hit anybody ar do anything real stupid in front of the chief to where i have to pull you over
