nothing is more annoying than not being able to see my temp and oil pressure guages when its dark.

and when i start going to the track, when i REALLY need to see the guages.. will only be at night, on test and tune nights.

so does autometer make any guages that are backlit? or any other companies? i know ive seen somebody post pictures of guages like this before.

what do you mean? i thought all gauges were backlit.
you say you cant see at night. ah, pretty much every gauge since the turn of last certury has had lights. some better than others.
sorry if this is dumb, i just dont get it. if the lighting is insufficient, there are ways around it. i dunno what you mean. bump for someone whom does. ??????

Ive had Autometer guages in the past and while they are "backlit" IMO they were dim and poorly lit. That was some time back so I dont know if they have gottin any better.

ALL autometer gauges are backlit. The previous owner either :

A.) Didn't put the light bulbs in the back of the gauges and/or

B.) Didn't take the time to hook the lights up.

On the rear of the gauge is a little clip in bulb with two wires. That's where your backlite comes from. If you run it over to the blue w/red stripe wire on the headlight switch your dimmer will dim them.

Autometer sells the lighting harness seperatly should you find the owner never put them in.

thats what i said ("every gauge since the turn of the last century," etc....

also, you can tap into the ISO fuse (number13, IIRC) for the lighting. juice through this fuse dims with the dimmer.
