I've not seen a forum talk about the real difference between the same type of leaf spring from a different manufacturer?

Cause this is tempting me atm:

Sure, there is a wide variety between makes, I have seen inexpensive springs that performed well and cost little, and expensive springs that sat way too high or low. I have the inexpensive, "show correct" GT springs on my 66 now.

you really want to make sure that you want a very stiff ride if you go with the 4.5 leafs ( i have those and love them ) i pretty much always recommend a mid eye as it's about the perfect height for our cars, and looks really spot on : ).

no, but i'm sure relative to other amounts of springs 4.5 is going to be very stiff.

I’m partial to the Maier racing leafs because they load the leafs towards the front so it minimizes wheel hop. I got rid of my under-rider traction bars after installing them.
