have an iac??? my car starts and then runs like poop for like a couple of seconds and then it does ok.. but sometimes it rev's and goes down when sitting at a stop light sounds like an iac. but didn't know if there was one on a 2.3. Thanks,

yes, its right on the back of the throttle body, Looks like a shiny cylinder

ok i thought that's what that was but didn't know for sure i will price on also do the svo throttle bodie's fit without changing them??? I might be aquiring one and was going to put it on but i don't want it to mess anything else up,.

IAC = Idle air control... it is basically a plunger actuated by an electric motor. It diverts air around the "butterfly" in the throttlebody to control idle speed.

sounds like you might need to get a new one... mine got crud buildup in it and the plunger wasnt seating properly and when i turned on the car it would rev to like 3K then gradually increase... before you buy a new one get a can of gum cutter or something similar and spray it in there to try and get all the crap out. its really a simple thing and unless the electronics of it go bad you should be able to clean it out.

the SVO TB should fit, although i dont think there will be any performance gain from it... as far as I know they are essentially the same part. I can tell you that the TB from my 86 turbo engine and the one from my 89 N/A do not use the same TPS so make sure you get the SVO TPS in case they are different.
